about the Shelley and Donald Rubin Foundation
The Shelley & Donald Rubin Foundation supports the performance of
policy analysis, research, educational and artistic activities related
to two important aspects of our society: the changing family
structure and our cultural and ethnic diversity.
A non-profit, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in 1991,
the Foundation has a special interest in preserving Tibetan religious
art. The Foundation's most active program, the Himalayan Art Project,
maintains an extensive collection of Tibetan thangkas and supports the
production and dissemination of a wide range of educational and
art-related material. The project provides grants to individuals,
museums and monasteries in the United States and other nations, is
supporting the publication of a book presenting a portion of its art
collection, and is building a virtual museum at the Foundation's
website, www.tibetart.com.
